Pupils from the Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic School Complex (ZSMEiE) in Toruń gave us a lovely surprise. Three fourth-year pupils visited us with their vocational teacher, Paweł Derwich, bringing a thank-you they had made themselves for our involvement in the µElektra Technical Talent Festival, held in April alongside the ZSMEiE Open Day.
We took part in the 26th festival as event partner. The festival genuinely brings education and business together: technical school pupils can make their first professional connections, and companies can meet future specialists. One of the attractions was the KUKA KR 90 R2700 industrial robot, which came to the school with our team and which pupils could have a go at controlling themselves.
During the festival, the pupils presented their competition projects. We gave awards to the best of them, and their creators were also invited to summer work placements with us.
We were honoured to welcome future engineers to our headquarters. We showed them what our day-to-day work looks like: the cell with our KUKA demonstration robot and a real project we are currently building for a customer in our hall – a robotic cell of our own design that can be used across many industries. Visits like this show that cooperation between schools and business doesn't end with a single event, and young people's interest in robotics and automation is our best motivation to keep going.
ZSMEiE is one of the leading technical schools in Poland. It has nearly 900 pupils, works closely with business and universities, and prepares young people for the realities of the job market. Technical Secondary School No. 5, part of ZSMEiE, ranked among the very best in both regional and national school rankings in 2025.
Our partnership with the school is long-term – we have become patron of class 1AR, which trains automation and robotics technicians, for the school years 2026/2027–2030/2031. Thank you to Head Teacher Małgorzata Łopatko, Mr Paweł Derwich and the pupils for a wonderful gesture that means a great deal to us.
