We took part in the 32nd EnergaCAMERIMAGE International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography in Toruń.
EnergaCAMERIMAGE is one of the largest and most prestigious film industry events in the world. Unlike most festivals, which focus on directors and actors, it puts cinematographers and the visual side of cinema centre stage. The top prize in the Main Competition is the Golden Frog, alongside the Silver and Bronze Frogs. The festival attracts leading cinematographers, directors and international film stars, combining screenings with workshops, seminars and presentations of the latest film equipment. It began in Toruń, was held in Łódź and Bydgoszcz for a time, and returned to Toruń in 2019, where it is still held today.
On our stand, we showed an industrial robot in a completely new role: camera operator. The robot moved the camera at high speed yet smoothly, making dynamic cinematic shots possible.
Our stand became one of the festival's highlights: it sparked curiosity, drew crowds and showed robotics in an unusual application. Footage of the demonstration quickly went viral online – proof that robots earn their keep not only in industry, but even in film-making. They can also strengthen the image of an innovative company or institution by showcasing modern technology at public events.
